Welcome to SJQHA, your one-stop Quarter Horse shop!
State of Jefferson Quarter Horse Association was established in the 1960's when a group of
people enthusiastic about their Quarter Horses got together to promote their breed.
While many things have changed since then, SJQHA hasn't. We are still a group of people
who love Quarter Horses and enjoy riding, showing and promoting them.
So what can State of Jefferson Quarter Horse Association do for you?
We would like to bring the power of AQHA to a local level
for you. Breeders and trainers, advertise with us on our website. It will be a great
place to promote your horses and your business. SJQHA is also a place where youth members
can learn more about horses and compete too!
In 2007, we introduced our own
Horseback Riding Program
where you can earn recognition for riding your horse.
Join State of Jefferson Quarter Horse Association
and pay a nomination fee into our program.
When hours are due, just turn in your hours and receive a special award at our annual
awards banquet noting your accomplishment.
In 2008, we are very excited to introduce our SJQHA Dressage Recognition Program. AQHA recognizes that Quarter Horses can be very successful in the dressage arena. SJQHA would like to give recognition to our members who compete in dressage with their American Quarter Horses. Download an enrollment sheet from our forms page, or request one, take it with you to competitions and have the show secretary record your score and initial the form. Enrollment sheets are due in September. Participants will receive an award at our year end awards banquet that will reflect their highest score. We will accept scores from dressage shows, OHSET and 4H county and state fairs.
We are very excited about our two open all breed horse shows in 2009. The first show is in July, a casual, affordable show with classes for exhibitors of all levels. September is our annual Fall Classic open all breed show. We hope you can join us at these two events!
If you think that State of Jefferson Quarter Horse Association
has something to offer to you,
please let us know.
We would love to meet you.
